Training at SMFC
The requirements to fly at Stansted Model Flying Club are that you are a member of Stansted MFC, have a current BMFA Membership, and have been checked and approved to fly by Stansted MFC. This is a simple check to ensure you are able to take off, perform circuits and land safely as well as demonstrate an understanding of flight and club safety rules.
If you are an EXPERIENCED MODEL FLYER, please download and read the “SMFC Rules” document, then email email@example.com. You will then be put in touch with one of our current members who will be able to arrange a date to meet and perform your flight check.
For NEW FLYERS that would like to learn to fly, please download and read the “SMFC Rules“ document and “A Flying Start – BMFA Fixed Wing flight training manual“. The BMFA Fixed Wing manual will give you a great understanding of Equipment, Flight Safety, Principles of Flight, Simulators and much more. If you would like Helicopter training then you only need the “SMFC Rules” document.
Then email firstname.lastname@example.org to be put in touch with one of our current members who will be able to arrange a date for your flight training.
All of the Club Instructors teach in their own time and at no expense to the learner, for this reason it is not always possible to guarantee trainees a personal dedicated Instructor.
